Maher Fenvalerate (20% EC)

Maher Fenvalerate (20% EC)

Fenvalerate is a non-systemic, pyrethroids insecticide and has a contact and digestive effect. This poison is formulated as an emulsion (EC 20%) and has a few acaricide properties. Fenvalerate is effective on plant pests and is one of the first synthetic pyrethroids to be used in agriculture due to its high insecticide and durability against sunlight exposure.

The mechanism of the action:
This poison has a fast knock down effect. This effect does not directly relate to the toxic effects of poisoning since the amount of poison required to cause insects mortality is usually much higher than the amount needed to cripple them. The effect of fenvalerate is like the pyrethrins, causing a rapid drop in the insect. The effect of fenvalerate is due to nervous inhibition and has a positive correlation with temperature (unlike permethrin). Fenvalerate decreases the sensitivity of the post-synaptic region to neural stimulation. The rate of release of gamma amino-butyric acid (GABA) in the pre-synaptic region increases and prevents the neuronal transmission. Fenvalerate has a lipophilic property and is easily absorbed by insect cuticle layer and leaf surface, resulting in resistance to the effect of rainwash. Fenvalerate insecticide property depends on the recommended dosage for each pest and the total coverage of the layer of poison on the surface of the leaf.

Indications :
Fenvalerate is effective on a wide range of pests, especially those resistant to organochlorine insecticides, organophosphates, and carbamates. Fenvalerate is used to control timber boring insects, sucking and rodent insects from different grades on cotton, oilseeds, vegetables and cucurbits, nuts, grape, olive, sunflower, alfalfa, cereals, corn and sorghum, potato, beet, peanuts, soy beans, tobacco, sugarcane, ornamental plants, forests and pasture plants.

Compatibility and mixing:
Fenvalerate is well adapted to the mentioned herbs in the recommended dose. It can be mixed with non-alkaline fungicides but should be consumed immediately after mixing. It is easily soluble in organic solvents. This compound has no corrosive effect.
