Mechanism of action:
Ethion is an acaricide and insecticide from a non-systemic organophosphate group, and has a contact and partially digestive effect acting through cholinesterase enzyme inhibition in the nervous system of animals. Acetylcholine acts as a neurotransmitter in the inter-synaptic space and stimulates the next axon. The ethion in the insect's body causes accumulation in the synapse, and as a consequence, the stimulation of the next nerve continues continuously because the cholinesterase enzyme necessary to decompose acetylcholine in the inter-synaptic space and the removal of this continuous stimulation has been blocked by ethion's poison.
Indications :
Ethion is an insecticide that is used to control mites, aphids, thrips, scale insect and armored scales of cold and citrus fruit trees in the amount of 1.5 to 2 liters per thousand liters of water, as well as against many larvae of butterflies, cicadas, psyllas and other sucker pests on grape, pistachio, vegetables and seafood, cotton, corn, sorghum, strawberries, ornamental plants and so on is applicable. Ethion, in combination with oil, is used as a winter spray application on resting and hibernation trees to help eliminate insect eggs, mites, scale insect, and moving forms of mites and other wintering species.
Compatibility and Mixing:
Ethion is often mixed with other insecticides other than alkaline compounds. Also, if it used correctly, there is no risk of plant scorching (except in some types of apples).
